Hello, I’m Kristin.
I am a Midwest photographer based in Michigan and traveling where your love story desires to be documented. I adore capturing the emotion of life’s special moments on digital + film. I am a devoted wife, mother, and artist currently living and homesteading in the Michigan forest with my family. We love to sit in our garden and enjoy the day, visit our local creamery for an ice cream scoop, and paddle around in our kayaks exploring nature together.
Born and raised in upstate New York, I began cultivating my deep reverence for the power & art of photography at a young age while spending summers in the Adirondacks at my grandparents lake house. In the sunroom there, the wall is completely filled with an endless sea of collage picture frames, displaying wholesome moments from years gone by. The nostalgia of that room can hold you still in your heart there for hours, reveling in the magic of memories.
Recognizing the extraordinary potential that exists in a simple photograph, I became inspired to collect moments in an intentional, artful way. Two great life changes—one of loss and one of new life—propelled my passion and precision for this art form of documenting real stories of love and life to ever-soaring heights. Photos carry time in a capsule—an emotional resonance—holding this tremendous power to transport us back in time to feel deeply, especially when we are seeking the face or essence of a loved one who is gone or to relive a mundane moment of past time joyousness. I truly believe every moment is inherently beautiful—from the small quiet moments to the grand opulent milestones—all worthy of artful & intentional documentation as they are.
I strive to create a genuine, heart centered experience and connection for you within your photos, so that you may relive the feeling inside each precious moment or memory, and share that magic with future generations to come.
My father began his photography journey in his home country of England at 12 years old, developing all of his film himself in his homemade darkroom. He inspired me to start shooting film by sharing his passion for the medium, teaching me the basics, and gifting me his Nikon FE2. For me, film is pure magic and fills my artistic soul like no other medium has. Receiving my final scans and viewing the elegant way in which light and shadow, color, and emotion filled moments render on film is one delight of life I simply will never tire of. I currently shoot a mixture of medium format and 35mm film alongside digital in all of my work. I hope to share this love I have for the beauty of film with you, too, by archiving special moments of your life for you to cherish forever.
